The UK Government has approved an extra £306 payment for pensioners to help with the rising cost of living.
The £306 extra payment is part of the Pension Credit, aimed at low-income pensioners to assist with daily expenses.
To qualify for Pension Credit, recipients must be over state pension age and meet income requirements. Couples can receive £306.85, while singles receive £201.05.
In 2024, the payment will increase to £332.95 for couples and £218.15 for singles. This adjustment helps combat inflation.
Pensioners may also receive extra payments, such as the Winter Fuel Payment, which can add £150 or £300 to their benefits.
Pension Credit payments are separate from the state pension and can include additional support for housing costs, disabilities, or caring for dependents.
To qualify for the £306 payment: Both partners must be over state pension age or receiving Housing Benefit. And Couples include spouses, civil partners, or long-term cohabitants.
