Direct Express is a debit card for SSI and SSDI beneficiaries, allowing access to funds without a bank account.
Biden's administration has adjusted Social Security allowances, adding extra funds to help elderly citizens cope with inflation.
Social Security no longer issues paper checks. Payments are directly deposited into bank accounts or loaded onto Direct Express cards.
The transition to Direct Express Debit Cards is underway. Recipients must sign up to receive the card, which activates upon setting the PIN at an ATM.
SSI payment dates: June 3: Applied before 1997, June 12: Birthday 1-10, June 18: Birthday 11-20 and June 26: Birthday 21-31
To receive the enhanced $2800 SSI payment, ensure you have a Direct Express Debit Card and meet the eligibility requirements.
