Millions of Australians will soon receive financial relief to help with rising living costs. This week marks the start of a government package providing $700-750 to eligible households.
The $700-750 Cost of Living program was announced earlier this year to help Australians manage increasing electricity bills. Payments will be made in two instalments during peak usage periods.
All residential accounts in Western Australia qualify for the $700 credit. More than 90,000 small businesses are also eligible, with criteria still being specified.
For most recipients, no action is needed. Synergy or Horizon Power customers will receive automatic credits. Other retailers might have different procedures, with applications likely to open in July.
Exact dates for the credit instalments haven’t been announced yet. They will likely occur during the coldest and hottest months of the year in Western Australia.
Regard energy efficiency audits and investing in energy-efficient devices to reduce electricity usage. Compare plans from different electricity retailers for better rates.
The $700-750 benefit, combined with energy-saving tips, helps Western Australians manage electricity costs and navigate the current economic climate.
