The UK Government is providing £600 per month for pensioners to help with cost of living and energy bills during the winter.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) delivers this financial assistance, known as winter fuel payments, to eligible pensioners.
Payments started in November 2023 and will continue monthly until March 2024. January's payment will be deposited by January 26, 2024.
To qualify, pensioners must: Be receiving state pension or other specific benefits, Be born before September 25, 1956 and Live in the UK (with some exceptions)
This £600 monthly payment is tax-free and helps cover energy bills and other living expenses during the winter months.
The amount varies from £250 to £600 based on individual eligibility and specific circumstances related to living costs.
This initiative is part of a broader government effort to support low-income pensioners, including an 8.5% increase in state pensions this year.
